We are looking for a Senior Investigator to join our Competition Investigations team. This is a full time, fixed term position until April 2026 based in either our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) offices.

Our Competition Investigations team is responsible for monitoring compliance with the provisions of the Commerce Act relating to abuses of market power and arrangements that substantially lessen competition.
We are looking for someone who can gather information through a variety of key investigative techniques, as well as understand and apply economic principles and legislation.
You will learn about how New Zealand industries operate and interact with people across diverse areas of the economy. You will part of a team focused on improving competition for the benefit of consumers. The work is challenging, interesting, and rewards an inquisitive mind.

The indicative salary range for this role is $112,970 to $132,906 plus 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.

We are looking for Investigators who have:
A degree in law and/or economics, or experience working in competition law or economics, would be an advantage.
